"Worst rebound ever"

Films: Possession (1981)

Alias: Mark

Type: Mystical

Location: Haunted home

Height/Weight: That of an average human.

Affiliation: Evil

Summary: We're no stranger to dysfunctional families in movies. But if your wife finds a horrific demonic monstrosity more attractive than you, chances are that you have issues. But then again, she's the one shagging the monster, so really, you both have issues.

History: Mark has just been divorced by his wife Anna. That's bad enough. But then, the people who visit her house go missing. Those who dare go into the increasingly insane Anna's home are rewarded with the sight of disembodied parts and an unsightly beast that kills them. But is this creature real, or just a representation of Anna's guilt and desire?

Notable Kills: Nothing special.

Final Fate: The beast doesn't seem to do anything as by Mark and Anna are shot by authorities and each other, though it does leave the scene as Mark's impersonator. Some time later, their son bears witness to the end times, and kills himself. Then again, did the world really end, or just the world this family knew...?

Powers/Abilities: Shape-shifting

Weakness: None

Scariness Factor: 4-This misshapen man-cephalopod-corpse thing is pretty much an allegory for divorce. Everything around it is indictive of a family doomed to disaster. It's only natural that it looks ugly as sin.

Trivia: -Apparently, the writer-director, Andrzej Zulawski, was undergoing his own divorce problems when he penned this thing.

-This film was also known as "The Night the Screaming Stops".
